Izuchukwu Riches Ubani is a thorough-bred intellectual and editor/critique, a teacher extraordinaire, an academic by calling and native endowments, with a vision for multidisciplinary consultancy for impact-driven developmental solutions through research, innovation and commercialization. 
He is a Lecturer in Department of Biotechnology, School of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, with research interests in medicinal plants and phytomedicine, ethno-pharmacognosy, cyto-molecular genetics, breeding and rapid regeneration/propagation, and environmental remediation.
He is a man of many parts: Editor, Teacher, Farmer, Registered Environmental Specialist (NREP, USA), Health Counsellor (Uchee Pines Institute, USA), Health, Safety and Environment (HSE I, II, III) Professional, Counsellor, and Bible Scholar.
He is well-known for his authoritative, strident, impassioned yet dispassionate/non-emotional, forthright/pointed/sharp and straightforward, bold, self-confident and self-disclosing use of words in speech and writing, often unwittingly mistaken for arrogance, disrespect, rudeness, aggression, anger, meanness and callousness, to speak objective or normative truth to power and to stand up tall, even if alone, for justice.
